Amber is the owner of Mindful DBT.  Amber opened Mindful DBT in 2018 after there continued to be a need to provide ongoing support to suicidal individuals and their families in the Sioux Falls and surrounding area. Amber has made it her mission to provide a compassionate, non-judgmental space for her clients to learn effective DBT skills and build hope for them to live the life they have always wanted and for families to have a sense of relief and hope as well.

Amber has specialized in comprehensive DBT and Trauma therapy her entire career.  Amber is a DBT-Linehan Board of Certification, Certified Clinician and Intensively Trained DBT-PE therapist.  Amber has been providing DBT and Trauma treatment for 20 plus years. Amber is passionate about supporting individuals who are suicidal and also supporting families or individuals who may have lost someone to suicide. No one needs to walk that journey alone.

Amber's 1st Intensive DBT training was in 2000 in NY via Behavioral Tech focused on outpatient treatment.  Amber's 2nd Intensive DBT training was in 2014 by Behavioral Tech in Seattle, WA focusing on private and group practices. 

Amber's journey began in Western, NY where she worked in inpatient, outpatient and college settings.  Amber moved to South Dakota in 2009 where upon her arrival started her first DBT private practice.  Since then, she has continued to provide comprehensive DBT and PTSD treatment to the Dakotas.  

One of Amber’s passions is walking beside her colleague, Angela Drake and volunteering with her non-profit organization, Fight Like A Ninja- www.fightlikeaninja.org. We promote Mental Health awareness and suicide prevention in our community but especially among our young athletes. We can always start a conversation. Amber is ready to start one with you!
